How to Backup BlackBerry 10 Device using BlackBerry Link and Upgrade your BlackBerry 10 Device OS using Autoloader

HOW TO BACK UP YOUR BLACKBERRY 10 DEVICE

What you need to perform this operation is just a Computer, BlackBerry Link software, USB cable and your smartphone. if you don't have BlackBerry link, just click on BlackBerry Link to download it for PC or MAC user.

1. After download, run and install BlackBerry link in your computer

2. Launch the app from your desktop then connect your device via USB and wait for it to load. after loading, it will display like the image below

3. Click on "Back Up & Restore" and it will Display like the image below

4. Then select the Back Up type you want. Quick back up excludes media files and app installation files, Full back up includes everything in your device while Custom back up will give you the options to select what you want to back up.

5. Then click on "Back Up Device"

Note: During this process, make sure your computer does not go to sleep as this may interrupt the Backup making you to think that your back up is complete

You should save your Autoloader file in your Computer and not in your smartphone so if you used your phone to download it, just transfer to it your computer and if it is inside a compressed folder, extract it to get your Autoloader.

1. After Backing up your device, close your BlackBerry link and disconnect your device from the computer that is remove the USB cord from your phone.

2. Switch off your phone by holding down your power button

3. Run your Autoloader from your computer and you will see a display like the image below

4. As soon as you see "Connecting to Bootrom" connect your divice to your USB cable and to your computer and your device will display a green LED light and the Autoloader will perform the upgrade.

Note: During this process, make sure you don't touch your device or shake your USB as this will interrupt the process.
